RE: RV Campgrounds Recommended along I-40

If you're going thru Amarillo, Palo Duro Canyon State Park is a must. Plan to spend more than one day though. You can find it on the Texas State Parks site. About 15 miles south of Amarillo.

RE: Suggestions for winter in Tampa area

Try Traveler's Rest in Dade City, about 30 mi North of Tampa. It is a former "Airstream Only" park, but they now welcome all brands. The park is reviewed in RV Park Reviews.

RE: Any recommendations for Alaska Land and Sea Cruise??

Agree with renting the RV. We cruised from Vancouver to Whittier this Spring, and rented a class c. Spent 2 1/2 weeks touring Alaska. Only way to do it. Also agree that Princess is great. We were aboard the Coral Princess.

RE: Weather need info on where to go now.

Sugar Mill RV Park in Ochlochnee, GA is a good place to hide. It is located about 10 miles North of Thomasville, GA on US 19. I rode by it this morning and not many campers are there.

RE: I-75 South - Atlanta to Gainesville - Possible Stopover?

If you're just looking for overnight, Eagles Roost RV Park in Lake Park GA is excellent. Just a couple of miles north of the GA_FL border. Nice, clean, shady park and a couple of hours from Gainesville.

RE: I-75 S VS. I-65 S to Florida

U S 280 South of Birmingham is not bad. It should be all 4 lane by now. GA 520 from Columbus to Tifton is one of the best highways anywhere.Dont remember the Hy number, look at your map, but best to take the bypass around the north side of Columbus.

RE: Driving through Atlanta

If you go through when it is not rush hour, mid morning or mid afternoon, then going through is better than 285. Be aware, though, that on weekends for the next several months, there is construction on the downtown connector so you don't want to go through at any time of the day on weekends. I was there this weekend and the connector was a parking lot. During the week. OK.

RE: Florida camp grounds in the Keys

Wayne-tw is right. Don't know why you don,t want State Parks, but Bahia Honda is by far the best. Need reservations, though.

RE: Utah National Parks

Utah highway 12 is one of the most spectacular drives in the US. Be warned, however, that there are some steep grades (12%), so be sure to use your tranny and watch the tranny temperature.

RE: South Dakota and Wyoming suggestions

You will be near Little Bighorn Battlefield. Well worth a couple of hours. Cody, Wy is not to be missed. Allow at least one day for the Buffalo Bill Historic Center. Have dinner at the Irma Hotel. Cody has a rodeo every night June - August. Well worth attending.

RE: Site-seeing near Anderson South Carolina

Highland NC is just up the mountain from Walhalla. It is the highest ( in elevation) city east of the Mississippi. A very nice summer resort town. Lots of very nice (read expensive) shops and great golf courses.

RE: To broad of a question? Texas going East

Savannah and Charleston are very nice this time of year. Savannah is one of the prettiest citys I've ever seen. Much history in both. If you're going to Savannah, be sure to read "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" before you go. It will make the city come alive.

RE: june weather on pikes peak

We were there on Labor Day in 2005. Took the cog railway up. The weather was very pleseant on the bottom, but on the way up, it began to snow and by the time we got to the top, it was snowing very hard and the temperature was in the low 30s. It was snowing so hard that we couldn't see anything. I still wouldn't have missed it though. Dress warmly. When we got back down, the weather was pleseant again.

RE: CANYONLANDS OR ARCHES NAT. PARK??????

A drive thru is better than nothing. You can do both if you get there early enough. We did them both in one day. Would have liked to stay longer but didn't have the time, so I'm glad we did the drive thru, at least I've seen them.
